Woot Woot!!!

Hi Everyone,

Last month I noticed that Twisted Sketches were having a Design Team Call for card makers. I do still scrap every now and again but I seem to make more cards than layouts so this call immediately caught my attention. I followed the instructions and sent my application in. To be honest, having seen the talent on Twisted Sketches I didn't think I would hear anythng.

Nevertheless, I received an email asking me to join the Team! I was over the moon! I couldn't believe it. So now I can share the card I made for my Design Team submission and proudly display the badge on my blog. I can't wait to get started and I hope you will all join me over at Twisted Sketches for some awesome inspiration. The first  Card Sketch goes up on the 3rd April with some gorgeous examples from Team A. Don't miss it!

Take care. x x

Very confused.com....

Evening Everyone,

Friday is here at last! I lurve Fridays! I've managed to get a bit of crafty time this evening which is always nice. Unfortunately it's nothing I can post as yet. ;)

I'm sure one of you lovely people out there can tell me but, at the moment, whenever I open my photos in photoshop to crop them and what not, they come up as locked??? I haven't been able to work out why. Can some bright spark out there tell me what I'm doing wrong?

I seem to have lost my technology mojo at the moment. I'm usually not too bad at IT stuff so I'm beginning to think it's a sign that I'm getting old(er)! Off to trowel on the wrinkle cream! LOL

Take care! x x

What a cool man!

Evening everyone,

I was training today at work and had to go to our corporate training site in the city. Whenever I'm training I always like to pop into Starbucks for a coffee on the way. Anyway, I got into town only to find this man suspended in a perspex box. His name is Stuart and he's raising money for MacMillan Cancer Support. He's spending a week locked in this box and he's totally relying on people for food so he can keep going.

Well, once I read all about this I just had to buy the man breakfast. So I went to Starbucks for my usual coffee and picked up a cappacino and some raisin toast with butter and jam for Stuart. I then stood in the middle of town and yelled "STUART!" up at him. He waved and then lowered down a bucket so I could put my breakfast in for him. He thanked me and on I went to training.

Here he is....

If you would like to donate to his very worthy cause or read more about it then you can visit him at http://www.willthemadfoolmakeit.co.uk/

Hats off to you mate!

Take care. x x

What a Nightmare!

Afternoon Everyone,

I thought I'd just pop on here for a moment in my lunch hour. I have had such a headache this weekend trying to get my blog sorted out. I am hopefully all sorted now though.

Trying to get my own domain to point to my blogger blog was a real challenge. Thankfully I managed to do that on Saturday only to find that my email had decided to stop working. I've had to cancel my account with one hosting company to purchase email from the same company that maintain my domain.

However, because I'd purchased a hosting plan for email from them all my servers had to be changed and so my email was working but not my blog. It was a complete nightmare! Thankfully though it should all be sorted now.

All I can say is please, please, please blogger never change a single thing again! It's too much for us non IT professionals to take! LOL

Take care. X X

Such a Hectic Week!

Morning Everyone,

I can't believe how quickly this weekend has come around! We are rushed off our feet at work at the moment. It's nearly the end of the financial year and we need to make sure we have all of our performance indicators as high as they can be. So, this week I've been chasing up paperwork, dates, feedback, etc all week.

Nevertheless I've made some time for a little bit of crafty shopping. Bought some gorgeous Martha Stewart punches which I've had my eye on for ages. One of them is for a specific project so it wasn't just to indulge myself.... honest!

I've also had some fantastic news this week but haven't been able to say anything. I still can't go into detail but hopefully by the end of today I'll be able to let you all know. Needless to say I am very excited.

At the moment though, my house is screaming at me to be cleaned and the washing machine is waiting for me too. Life is tough at the top! LOL Just kidding. Have a great weekend everyone. Take care. x x

Some Crafty Time For Mother's Day

Afternoon Everyone,

I've managed to get some crafty time this morning. Technically I'm supposed to be doing the housework but I'm still poorly so have decided to take it easy today. Since we have two new mums in the family we thought we would get each of them a Mother's Day card. The first one I created was actually for Trace's Mum for Mothers Day. I was really pleased with the end result as I tried to think outside the box and use colours I wouldn't normally use....

  • Cardstock: Bazzill

  • Patterned Paper: Bo Bunny

  • Stamps: Unity Stamp Company

  • Ribbon: Unknown

  • Stamp Pad: Distress Ink in Antique Photo

  • Pens: Promarkers in Peach, Coral, Denim Blue and Powder Blue

The second card was inspired by the latest Sketch at Get Sketchy. Inspiration struck when I saw this sketch and I had to start right away....

.... and here's the card I made....

  • Cardstock: Bazzill

  • Patterned Paper: Scienic Route and Fancy Pants

  • Felt Leaves: Unknown

  • Hugs and Kisses Ribbon: Unknown

  • Felt Bird Embellishment: American Crafts

I have a few more cards to make before the days out. I'll try and upload them by the end of the day. Thanks for looking. Take care. x x

Its Been A Poorly Week With Some Happy News!

Morning everyone,

Came down with a stinking cold Monday evening and have been off work since Wednesday. This might come as a shock but I hate being off work sick! I think this is the first job I can actually say that. I love the people I work with and the job itself. Thankfully they understand why Im off and rather than pressuring me back to work they keep telling me to rest and come back when I'm better. I've never worked in a place like that before.

I am hoping to muster up the energy to make some cards today though. Sitting at my table creating is just what I need I think. I have some Mother's Day cards to make for Sunday as well as a new welcome to the family card since Trace's Step-sister gave birth to a gorgeous little boy on Monday. His name is Oliver Dean Potter and he arrived weighing 4lbs 10ounces. They are hoping to go home from the hospital today. He's doing really well and as a proud Auntie here is one of the first pictures of him....

He's three days old in this picture. This is the second time Trace and I have become Aunties in as many months! We're hoping to go visiting soon once everyone gets settled but they live up in Scunthorpe (about two hours drive away) so it'll have to be at the weekend sometime. As we are such good Aunties we have prepared a huge basket of baby stuff which we will take up when we go.

So that's my news for now. Going to go and take some more cold and flu medicine before settling down on the couch with some TV. Might even get to watch some if I can stop sneezing for five minutes! LOL

Take care everyone. x x

Back Out The Other Side...

Evening all,

Well that was a bit hairy scary... Moving from publishing my blog using ftp to using blog spot. Thankfully, after watching all the tutorials, trial and error and making a few mistakes my blog is now up and running with a lovely background. I've still got a fair amount of work to do and it's difficult learning how to do the same thing completely differently but I'm sure I'll get there soon.

Unfortunately I've lost all of my followers so if you can still read this and would like to follow me please click on the button on the right hand side. Apart from that I suppose I'll post again when I have some more crafty time.

In the meantime, take care and I'll post again soon. x x

Two Years of Happiness ~ A Very Happy Anniversary

Evening Everyone,

Yesterday saw the second Anniversary of Trace and I getting together. I must admit we've had some challenges in the two years we've been together. But we've always been there for each other and there has never been any question of us being together.

We celebrated simply with cards, a gorgeous bunch of flowers for me (which I wasn't expecting ~ Thank you!), a lovely meal, glass of wine and some lovely chocolates in front of the TV later. Its the simple things that make us happy. Saying that though we're looking forward to a nice weekend away in Brighton just the two of us for some quality time.

To celebrate our Anniversary I made Trace a special card....

  • Cardstock: Bazzill

  • Patterned Paper: Scenic Route

  • Rik Rak: Bazzill

  • Flower Stamps: Unknown
Thankfully she loved it. Thanks for looking. Take care. x x
