I've Let The Smoke Out Of The Computer!

Evening Everyone,

Just a quick note to let you know the reason I haven't been on here for a while is because my computer has finally given up the fight. I came down to find that it wouldn't boot up at all. I took the panels off to have a look in case a wire had come loose and managed to get it sorted but then the next day it had gone again and I just couldn't revive it.

So I've had to shell out a lot of money but will be getting a new PC by Friday hopefully. I've had to high jack Trace's laptop to type this message. Thankfully I can still check my emails on my iPhone but I hate not having a PC.

Anyway, best get off here. Will hopefully post again on Friday. Take care. x x x

So Shocked but delighted.....

Evening all,
I've just got back from my first day of training with Coventry City Council. Today we covered Equality and Diversity For Staff. It was really good and definitely made me think about my attitudes, values and beliefs both personally and in the workplace. I feel like I got a lot out of it.
Imagine my surprise though when the lecturer was talking to me in the break and invited me to be a guest speaker at his workshops covering Sexual Orientation In The Workplace. As you know I'm not afraid of my sexuality and am actually quite proud of it. I just happened to mention that I was gay in my introduction to everyone and he seemed quite impressed with my input and contribution to the days course that he extended me the invitation.
So now I have to go back to work tomorrow and let my manager know and then, when I'm settled in my job, I'm to get in touch with him and let him know when I'm available. Needless to say I walked home this evening on cloud 9.
Anyway, I thought I would just pop on here to share my good news. Now I need to get back to cooking the dinner. Take care. x x

Very Under The Weather but still Fashionably Geek....

Morning all,
You may be wondering what I'm doing up at the crack of dawn on a Sunday? We'll trust me this doesn't normally happen but at the moment I feel so ill I just can't sleep. My nose and eyes wont stop running and I feel absolutely pants! LOL

I've been having some problems with my computer too which hasn't helped my mood. They should hopefully be sorted now (fingers crossed) and I can upload some images of things I've been making.

Its a good thing this blog stuff isn't live chat because I'd be rubbish since I have to stop and blow my nose every 2 minutes! LOL
Anyway, here's a layout I did for the Fashionably Geek Challenge over at Candy Shoppe Designs. Unfortunately the closing date for this challenge has passed but I thought I would upload it anyway. They do have a fab challenge on at the moment called Watch Your Language Young Lady! You should go over and check it out as its not your run of the mill challenge.

Its a photo of my son at Perth Zoo when we went back to Australia in August 2008. I just love the look on his face.

A Mixed Week with a bit of Unity!

Evening all,

I know this week isn't over yet but I've had such a mixed week so far it feels like its been seven days already! I've had an ear infection this week which has really messed me up. I've been walking around like a drunk all week because my balance has gone. I went to the walk in centre yesterday after it was just too painful and I just couldn't sit at my desk anymore. I did think that it might sort itself out and I wouldn't need to go to the doctor but after I was given a check up I was told that it wouldn't have cleared itself and that I definitely needed some antibiotics and a few days rest until my balance comes back. Just goes to show what I know. LOL
This week was also the first payday in my new job. I wasn't sure how much I was going to get and when it came through it was a lot more than I thought and I even rang the pay department to check they hadn't paid me too much. Turns out they hadn't so I've been using this nice surprise to buy some stash. Woop Woop! I've finally managed to get my subscription to The Unity KOTM. I've been drooling over their kits for months and couldn't resist any longer. They're designs always look so good and each month I can see the designs being used on my cards. I just haven't had to funds to buy them until now. So, I'm really looking forward to getting my first kit. I've added the blinkie to my sidebar if you want to check them out. I've ordered from them before and they are really good quality stamps.
We've also managed to sort out our mobiles this week. Both Trace and I have been wanting to upgrade to the new IPhone 3GS because our contracts have both come up for renewal and so we've been ringing up everyday but it's been out of stock for ages. Then, yesterday, we were told they would be in stock today and that we could upgrade and secure our new IPhone. So now we're both on tender hooks waiting for the doorbell to ring. Hopefully they'll arrive tomorrow. Can't wait.
I've also decided to sort through my stash and, because I work in children's services, I've had a word with a woman I work with to see if they'd be interested in any stash I have. They said they're always grateful for anything people can spare so that when the kids come to visit they have a lot of craft things on hand so the kids can get creative. So hopefully this weekend I'll sort through my stash and have a nice big box to take to work on Monday.
Anyway I'd best get going. Dinner is on and I have chores to do. LOL. Take care. x x
