Such a Nice Day.....

Hi Everyone,

Before I go any further I'd like to introduce you to the latest addition to our little family. This is Tink....

She'll be ten weeks old tomorrow. She's a cheeky little lady and loves to play with my stash. My little ink dusting brush somehow managed to make it to the bedroom the other day and she has a fetish for socks too (we're always finding odd socks in strange rooms). She's one of the reasons I haven't had a lot of craft time lately. She needs to be watched constantly. Thankfully Utah, our other cat, has settled in with her even though she constantly get harassed to "play."
Speaking of craft time. I managed to get some much needed craft time this week. I think I'm starting to get used to working full time again. I also think that my wonderful Trace has a lot to do with it to since she's doing a lot of things in the afternoon to help me out, like washing, tidying, dish washing and lunch making so I don't have to do it when I get home. I haven't felt half as tired this week so fingers crossed I'll have some more time for craft now. It's something I need to do. It relaxes me and makes me really happy. It's hard to explain but I'm sure a lot of you can relate.
Nevertheless, I can't quite reveal what I've been doing just yet. Watch this space and all will be revealed in the next week or so. But for the time being I have some of Ethan's Birthday presents to wrap. He'll be 7 on the 6th of October. I just can't believe how much my little man is growing up. I love him to bits and he's such a lovely little man. The good thing is he still enjoys snuggling time with his Mummy so I'm going to jump at the chance of snuggling time for as long as I can.
So I hope everyone has a great weekend and I'll chat again soon. Take care. x x

Such a hectic couple of weeks!

Hi Everyone,
Huge apologies for not posting for so long. Life has been absolutely manic and I have had no time for myself at all.
I started my new job in Social Services two weeks ago. We look after all the children in care as well as those going for fostering and adoption. Its a really busy office and I still have soooo much to learn but I'm really enjoying it. It can be very hard at times especially when you read about some of the things that have happened to these kids but I hopefully make a difference and help in some way.
Working full-time as well is taking some getting used to. I still have to remind myself that I don't work Saturdays anymore. I'm also having to do a lot more to keep on top of everything. I can't let the washing and ironing build up and I try to get the ironing done at the weekend for the week because I really don't want to be doing it through the week. However, when Friday comes round I tend to find that I'm absolutely shattered and can't wait til Sunday when I can have a huge sleep in. On a Saturday I make sure I get up with Trace at 4.45am to see her off to work and then start tackling the housework so when she comes home at two we can spend the weekend together without being bogged down with housework.
We also have a new addition to our family (photos to follow). Her name is Tink and shes a lovely little black in white kitten. A friend that my Mother-in-law works with got her but her dog did not like her at all so my MIL contacted us to see if we would like her. We said no because with the new job I was starting I wasn't sure it would be fair and we also weren't sure that Utah would get on with her but then she sent through a picture on her phone and we just could resist. We introduced Utah and Tink to see if they would get on and after a little bit of upset in the beginning they now play together and get on quite well. Utah still likes her own space sometimes though but she'll let Tink know when she's had enough ~ usually with a tap on the head! LOL
Nevertheless, I'm hoping to get some crafty time tomorrow if I get all the housework done today. I've really missed my crafty time and I've got a few things on my to-do list. I'll post tomorrow as to how I got on and include any pictures to things I've made. In the meantime, have a nice weekend all. Take care. x x

Back from Holiday!

Afternoon all,
We'll we arrived back from our holiday on Monday. The three of us had such a fantastic time. We'd never been to Great Yarmouth before but I think we'll definitely be going back next year maybe. Nevertheless we're back now so its action stations on the holiday washing and ironing. I start my new job on Monday, which I'm very nervous about, so I need to make sure all my work clothes are washed and ironed along with everyone elses. It'll be so strange not wearing a uniform since I've worn one for the last five years. I've already decided I need a new handbag after my last one developed a hole in the lining and I lost my keys down it. Any excuse eh?
Our trip to London before we went to Great Yarmouth was amazing too. Trace and I had such a good time and the hotel was fabulous! We both took a tour around Stamford Bridge (home of Chelsea Football Club) and had a mini spending spree in the megastore. Our cat, Utah, now proudly sports a lovely Chelsea FC cat collar!! Sooo cute we just couldn't resist. She's now a posh pussycat!
So much has happened in the last few weeks its hard to remember it all. It's definitely a season of change for our family but one that will hopefully bring so much. Things just seem on the up for all of us.
Ethan starts back at school next week. He's proudly announcing that he's going to be in class 2p! I caught him the other day saying "2p or not 2p ~ that is the question!" Where he picks these things up from I have no idea! LOL
Anyway, I'd better get back to work. Still got washing the ironing to do. Just wanted to check in here and let everyone know I was back. I've managed to get some time this afternoon to create two more Christmas cards but apart from that I haven't really had any crafting time. I'm starting to feel it too but my mojo seems to have escaped on holiday too. I have to go stash shopping for a special project I have coming up so perhaps that will get my mojo flowing again. Talk soon. Take care. x x
